Tesla is making waves once again with its innovative plans for a drive-in restaurant in Los Angeles, creatively designed for the electric vehicle era. Recently, an account dedicated to Tesla news shared an exciting update on social media platform X, revealing that the restaurant now has an appointed chef.

According to a post by Sawyer Merritt, the diner promises to deliver a vibrant experience reminiscent of the 1950s, featuring charming retro decor, dazzling neon lights, and the irresistible aroma of freshly grilled burgers paired with hand-spun milkshakes. The culinary vision will be spearheaded by Chef Eric Greenspan, a well-known entrepreneur in Los Angeles with a notable background in virtual dining and a distinctive boutique cheese brand.

Elon Musk, the visionary CEO of Tesla, chimed in on the announcement, expressing his enthusiasm with a simple comment beneath the post, stating, “It will be cool.” Despite efforts, neither Tesla nor Chef Greenspan has provided further comments regarding the project.

The concept of a drive-in restaurant first emerged in 2018 when Musk playfully teased the idea in a post on what was then known as Twitter, envisioning “an old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant.” He later elaborated on the concept, emphasizing that the restaurant would feature outdoor screens showcasing classic movie clips, ideally lasting around half an hour — the approximate time it takes to recharge an electric vehicle parked nearby.

Since those early musings, Musk has become a polarizing figure, particularly after acquiring Twitter and rebranding it as X. His actions, including significant donations to various political campaigns, notably those of Donald J. Trump and other Republican candidates, have sparked considerable debate. Additionally, recent months have witnessed protests globally, with demonstrators targeting Tesla dealerships and vehicles, resulting in vandalism utilizing various means, including guns and Molotov cocktails.

The anticipation surrounding Tesla’s drive-in restaurant continues to grow, as fans and food enthusiasts alike await what promises to be a unique dining experience that blends nostalgia with modern technology.
