SKODA Unveils the Eroq vRS: A Sneak Peek at the Sporty EV
SKODA has unveiled the first look at its upcoming sporty electric vehicle (EV), the Eroq vRS, ahead of its full reveal set for next week. This exciting model represents the brand’s second foray into the electric vehicle market, following the successful launch of the Enyaq.
The eagerly anticipated Eroq vRS will debut at the beginning of April, showcasing SKODA’s commitment to innovation and performance.
The new model features the brand’s signature vibrant green color, complemented by sleek black trim elements. This design choice reinforces SKODA’s identity while emphasizing the sporty nature of this EV.
While technical specifications are still under wraps, it is anticipated that the Eroq vRS will share similarities with popular models such as the Volkswagen ID.3 and the Cupra Born. Industry insiders speculate that the new vehicle could be equipped with a powerful AP550 motor situated on the rear axle, delivering an impressive output of up to 322 bhp. This places it nearly on par with the well-regarded Skoda Enyaq vRS.
In terms of performance, predictions indicate that the Eroq vRS will outperform the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant of the Skoda Octavia vRS, potentially accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in less than six seconds.
CEO Klaus Zellmer emphasized the importance of the vRS sub-brand, stating, “This is something that is our DNA. We will keep it, and you can’t neglect that. You cannot get rid of that.” This commitment to performance and heritage is evident in the design and engineering of the Eroq vRS.
In addition to the Eroq vRS, SKODA has recently teased another major project: a new seven-seater electric flagship model set to rival popular family options like the Kia EV9. This impressive vehicle is expected to launch in 2026, boasting a remarkable range of up to 435 miles on a single charge.
The seven-seater EV, revealed in a promotional video during SKODA’s annual results meeting, features modern aesthetics with slimline headlights and innovative LED lighting graphics, representing the latest trends in electric vehicle design.
The front of the new model showcases an illuminated grille with SKODA branding prominently displayed, signaling a fresh direction for the brand’s visual identity, as highlighted by industry publication Car.
Expected to be the flagship of SKODA’s electric lineup, the seven-seater is poised to undercut many competitors in the market, making it an attractive option for families transitioning to electric vehicles.
SKODA’s electric models are rolling out alongside existing combustion engine variants, with the 2025 Eroq EV serving as an electric alternative to the 2025 Karoq compact crossover. The automaker has confirmed that the new model will measure approximately 4.9 meters in length, providing flexibility and spaciousness for families.
With a projected output of around 340 bhp, the new seven-seater is designed to cater to families seeking an electric solution that accommodates three rows of seating, offering a more environmentally friendly option compared to traditional combustion engines.
This vehicle is expected to serve as a battery-electric alternative to the Skoda Kodiaq, equipped with a battery capacity of up to 86 kWh and available in both single and dual-motor configurations.
