Prior to this week, the highest temperature recorded in the UK this year was 21.3°C. Although temperatures may gradually decline on Saturday, they are still expected to linger around the mid-teens, surpassing the average maximum temperature of 12°C typically seen in April.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Paul Gundersen, commented, “The UK will enjoy a sunny start to April this week. Temperatures will gradually rise, with highs of 21-22°C achievable by Thursday. Aside from a slight chance of light rain affecting the far southwest of England, it will be a predominantly dry week. As we enter this time of year, UV levels begin to increase, so if you’re outdoors enjoying the sunshine, remember to protect yourself from the sun’s rays, which can be strong enough to cause burns even in April.”
