A Lockdown on Set: The Bad Dog Academy's New Series

In a startling turn of events, the set of Channel 4’s The Bad Dog Academy was placed under lockdown due to an unexpected guest—a rather intimidating dog that left the crew and host feeling on edge. Radio DJ Nick Grimshaw has officially stepped into the role of host for this new series, bringing his charisma to the program that aims to assist Britain’s most troubled dogs and their frustrated owners.

This upcoming series promises to showcase a dedicated team of expert dog trainers who will work their magic once again, transforming the lives of both pets and their owners. However, Nick, who is now 40, shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes story with The Sun’s TV Mag, revealing how one particular dog disrupted filming and sent everyone into a bit of a frenzy.

“There was a massive dog named Ghost. Honestly, I found it quite terrifying,” Nick recalled. “Every morning, we would gather with the trainers to discuss the day’s schedule, and I had never encountered a Cane Corso before. I was curious if this beast would be making an appearance.”

“One of the trainers warned me, ‘You better prepare yourself for today,’ and I initially thought they were joking. But it turned out to be serious business. Signs were posted all around the set indicating ‘Do Not Enter’ in the area where this dog was contained. I thought to myself, ‘Oh my goodness!’ Then, they told me it was time to let the dog in—the very one everyone was apprehensive about.”

“And yes, he was indeed a big fella!” Nick added, highlighting the sheer size and presence of the dog.

Viewers tuning into The Bad Dog Academy can expect to see not just the dogs but their owners undergoing training in essential dog management skills and behavioral psychology. Each misbehaving pooch will be put through expert-led sessions designed to correct their issues and foster a better bond with their owners.

Channel 4's Top Competition Shows

Channel 4 is known for its impressive lineup of competition shows, but which ones stand out as the best?

Four in a Bed

  • This reality competition show has been entertaining audiences since 2010. It involves four couples who take turns staying at each other’s B&Bs and hotels, rating their experiences along the way. The couple whose establishment is voted best value for money is crowned the winner.

Come Dine With Me

  • Since its debut in 2005, Come Dine With Me has provided countless outrageous moments and has become a staple of British television. Similar to Four in a Bed, the series features four contestants who each host a (supposedly) gourmet dinner party for the others. After each meal, guests score their host out of 10, with the final winner revealed on the last night.

The Great British Bake Off

  • This beloved show welcomes 12 amateur bakers to test their culinary skills under the watchful eyes of judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. Each week, one contestant is eliminated until the final three compete for the title in the last week.

Bake Off: The Professionals

  • This spin-off puts a competitive twist on the original format, pitting two teams of professional pastry chefs against each other in each episode. Judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden determine which team possesses the skills and creativity necessary to advance to the final rounds.
