Love Island Star Sparks Concern After Hospitalization in Africa

In a recent Instagram story, Brett posted a photograph of himself being treated by a doctor, where he can be seen smiling softly at the camera despite his situation. He accompanied the image with a heartfelt caption: “Letting everyone know life has been beating me recently. But I’m well looked after, currently in Tamale, northern Ghana. I’ve spent a couple of days resting but am really looking forward to getting out into the communities soon.”

Since his appearance on the seventh season of Love Island in 2021, Brett, alongside his identical twin brother Scott, has devoted his efforts to advocating against fast fashion. He frequently engages with his followers on TikTok, sharing insights and critiques about the fashion industry. Last year, he notably criticized fellow islander Molly-Mae Hague’s clothing brand, Maebe, for its quality, expressing his concerns in a passionate TikTok rant:

  • “Molly-Mae has launched her own brand called Maebe. After years of selling millions of exploitative clothing, these are all very low-quality materials and are synonymous with fast fashion. They are also very cheap to make. It will be interesting to see if customers are satisfied with the products they’ve got and whether or not they’ll be returning customers.”

During his time on the show, Brett made a notable impression when he entered the villa as a bombshell contestant. He formed a coupling with Priya Gopaldas, and while they initially appeared promising, Priya later confessed that Brett had given her the “ick.” Their relationship ultimately ended, with Priya revealing they would be better off as friends, leading to their exit just before the finale.

Earlier this month, Brett shared heartbreaking news with his followers about the loss of his father, Mike, who passed away after a battle with cancer. In a poignant post, he wrote:

  • “I’m sorry for those seeing this now and this is something I haven’t shared much of on here. Sadly, we lost our dad Mike yesterday after a short battle with cancer, which he was diagnosed with stage 4 in September.”

Brett continued, “He fought as hard as he could for the last six months, and it was unexpected to lose him so soon. He gave us an amazing life and loved out his dream of moving to Turkey and living a happy life there. We will be honouring his wish to be buried in the place he called home and will lay him to rest here in Turkey tomorrow.”

Concluding his heartfelt message, Brett added, “He was loved by everyone and always did everything he could for other people. He leaves an irreplaceable hole in our lives, but we will cherish our memories forever. Thank you to everyone who shared a friendship with him and loved him through it all. Love you always, Dad.”
