On Saturday afternoon, a tragic knife attack unfolded in the city of Mulhouse, located in eastern France, resulting in the death of one individual and multiple injuries among police officers. According to official reports, a 37-year-old man of Algerian descent was apprehended at the scene and is currently being held in custody.
The assailant, who was already on a terrorism watch list, allegedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” (Arabic for ‘God is the greatest’) as he initiated his attack in a crowded market. Authorities are treating this incident as an act of terrorism, as confirmed by France’s anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office.
