Jake Paul Discusses Potential Tommy Fury Rematch and Criticizes Canelo Alvarez
Jake Paul is setting the stage for a possible transition into the world of WWE alongside his brother Logan, but he has no intentions of stepping into the ring as a competitor himself. Logan Paul has made waves in the WWE since joining in 2022, even capturing the United States Championship. Meanwhile, Jake, who boasts a boxing record of 11 wins and 1 loss, has expressed interest in a WWE role that would see him manage Logan, similar to the iconic Paul Heyman’s relationship with Brock Lesnar.
In a recent interview with Newsweek, Jake stated, “I would be down to be Logan’s manager. Paul Heyman-style in WWE, but I don’t think my body is cut out for the athleticism and the madness that the WWE entails. I feel like I would break my back.”
In addition to his WWE aspirations, Jake also hinted at a potential foray into MMA, eyeing a rematch with former UFC star Nate Diaz, who he defeated in a ten-round boxing match in August 2023. He mentioned, “I definitely want to do MMA. Nate Diaz, still to this day, has not accepted the $15 million (£11.5m) deal that we have for him. For me in MMA, it’s just about finding the right opponent.”
Jake’s sole boxing defeat came at the hands of Tommy Fury in February 2023, and the two have been exchanging banter online, igniting speculation about a possible rematch.

The American also faced disappointment when a highly anticipated mega-fight against Mexican boxing legend Canelo Alvarez fell through. This occurred after Canelo, 34, opted for a lucrative four-fight deal with Turki Alsheikh in Saudi Arabia instead. Jake Paul commented on the situation, saying, “He went with the money play versus the legacy play of doing one of the biggest fights ever. Now he’s fighting some random guy in Saudi.”
He continued, “He snaked his fans and chose the money because they were threatening to pull his contract. The people over there don’t want to see me become the biggest name in boxing. So, that’s the nature of the sport and the politics involved. At the end of the day, all of these rats want a bite of cheese. He’s going to come back around and want to fight me again when he realizes his fights over there don’t have any hype behind them.”
With the boxing scene ever-evolving, fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next for Jake Paul, especially with the potential for a rematch against Tommy Fury on the horizon.
