MANCHESTER UNITED’s former star, Antony, is experiencing a resurgence in form following his loan move to Real Betis, and fans are loving every moment of it. The Brazilian winger, who struggled to make a significant impact during his two-and-a-half-year stint at Manchester United, is now thriving in La Liga after joining the Spanish club during the winter transfer window.

After playing a pivotal role in Real Betis’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Sevilla in the Seville derby, Antony’s exuberant celebrations caught the attention of fans. He was seen passionately waving the club’s flag and celebrating with his shirt off, embodying the joy of the moment. This win marked an impressive sixth consecutive league victory for Betis, and supporters were eager to revel in the success.

Antony has quickly become a vital asset to the team, contributing four goals and four assists in just 12 appearances. His impressive performances have drawn praise from fans and pundits alike, and it seems he has found a new lease on life in Spain.

After the match, his teammate Isco humorously suggested that the club should explore options like “crowdfunding” to secure Antony’s services on a permanent basis. Isco stated, “We need to do crowdfunding or something so that Antony can stay at least one more year. He has surprised us with the humility he’s brought.”

Fans took to social media to express their delight at Antony’s vibrant celebrations, with one user saying, “I’m crying with Antony, this guy… I hope he stays at Betis.” Another remarked, “Just look at how happy Antony is. Leaving United really works wonders for players.” A third added simply, “AURA.” One enthusiastic supporter noted, “Passion like that could power the whole stadium!”

As for Antony’s future, Real Betis officials hinted in February that there may be potential to extend his stay beyond this summer. Although there is currently no transfer clause in his loan deal, the club is covering a portion of his substantial £105,000 a week wages. Sporting director Manu Fajardo has emphasized that the club would likely need to qualify for the Champions League to afford a permanent deal for the talented winger.

Fajardo explained, “In Betis’ sporting department, we work on ‘devalued’ players, analyzing data from players who have reached very high moments and peaks, but who for various reasons have significantly decreased their performance. We are concerned about their situation and speak with major clubs. In his case, we were able to anticipate and convince the player and his entourage. Today, Antony is performing immediately from minute one in the squad.” He added, “We haven’t lost our enthusiasm; we can’t rule out anything in football, and hopefully Real Betis will remain in the top European positions to benefit his continuity and the arrival of other great players.”
